Having come from a family of military members, Jason enlisted as an 88M Motor Transport Operator for the Iowa Army National Guard in February 1992.  He started in the 2-133rd Mechanized Infantry which later transitioned into the HHT 1-113th Calvary Company out of Sioux City, Iowa.  In December 2002, he relocated from Iowa to Phoenix where he joined the 222nd Transportation Company before shipping off to Iraq with the 2220th Transportation Company in February of 2023 as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Upon returning, he transferred back to the 222nd Transportation Company and headed back to Iraq in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from 2006 to 2007 where he served as part of the Operations section.  

 

Upon returning, Jason moved further into leadership positions, ending his military career as a First Sergeant for the 363rd Explosive Ordinance Company out of Coolidge, Arizona.
